What you do the first thing in the morning, has the capability to make or break your day. How to start the day?Some may work for you and others may not. Included in the list, are some ways which some of our successful people used to start their day with.

How To Start The Day Happy

So, first thing, first.

Alarm, Snooze and Fight

You wouldn’t have to face the dilemma every morning, whether to embrace the quilt for another few moments or to get up this moment, waiting for the deadlines to swoosh by and then rushing through the morning chores, if and only if, you’d go to bed early. Place the alarm away from the bed, so that you’ve to get up to turn it off. Fill your room with soothing light, color, flowers, fragrance or anything that grabs your attention. I’d recommend not to use your Smartphone as an alarm!

Plan It A Night Before

Before you go to bed, 10 minute planning for the next morning, would change the morning routine for good. What are you going to wear, documents/backpack/car-keys, could be arranged a night before. 10 minute planning, organizing things could be a good turning point of your day.

Exercise

Yoga, 2-5 minute stretching, or even a walk/run would wrap an invisible positive coat that would shield you all day long. It boosts your immune system.

Appreciate the New Day

Every day is a new start. One minute prayer, or just words of appreciation hummed in heart, sends a positive message out into the universe. Or you could appreciate the things/person you like. Be grateful for things you own, the company of friends/people you enjoy.

Smile 🙂

And you don’t need no reason.

Shower

Warm/Hot/Cool, whatever is comfortable and activates your body, whatever that get you out of sleep mode. If done right after waking up, this is one of the best way to start the day.

Visualize the day over coffee/tea

Visualize how you will make your day while sipping coffee. A thought or a rough planning of the things you’d fill your day with, brings things in perspective.

No Email, No Notification

In the morning, when mind is creative, it’s always better to get important things done than wasting this precious time over Facebook, Twitter or Emails. This is the time for the most important work. It could be writing a new article, or solving the problem at hands or devising new ideas and ways to do certain things.

Read

If time allows, you could read something inspirational or some jokes that would set the day in motion. When I said “read”, it doesn’t include “news”.

Write

It could be anything. Dream last night, things you’re grateful for, a thank you note, anything inspirational, few words of self-love would make you feel alive.

Rich Breakfast

Whatever suits your system. Though, I’d recommend high-fibre breakfast that includes whole grains, fruit and low-fat protein. And, do not skip it at any cost.

Say No To Gadgets

Checking out smart phone, TV, Radio as a first thing in the morning, would eventually rob you off of your precious time. Gadgets can wait, Facebook, Twitter, Sitcoms would do you no good if this is how you start your day.
